I have an old in-ground swimming pool full of goldfish that I stocked three years ago.
There are probably 200 fish ranging from brand new babies to 8" adults.
Most are the typical plain orange, and these are the fish I am looking to rehome.
Some of the big fish are all white, all red, or a mix of two colors.
I was planning to keep these to encourage interesting genetics, but I might sell a few for a rehoming fee.
Please know that these are just regular goldfish.
They are not a weird exotic species, nor are they giant koi.
Just normal goldfish.
They survive winter without pumps or heaters, even when the top of the pool freezes.
They even spawned during winter this year.
They do very well in low-oxygen conditions.
I have a cast net, but the goldfish are highly reactive and good at evading capture despite that they group around me when I feed them.
I don't have a solution for netting them.
You will have to figure that out for yourself.
I really don't have a purpose or goal for this post other than I am trying to improve the color genetics by removing some of the plain orange.
If you are interested in those, let me know.
