What You Do and How You Do It: The Accounts Payable Specialist position is a results-oriented member of the Accounting Department team.
As a highly skilled professional, you will have a wide range of responsibilities.
These include: - Administration of our purchasing card program including communicating with cardholders, our purchasing card provider and department staff to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Assist with training cardholders and providing guidance on the use of the purchasing card program.
- Review and process payment requests to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance to customers related to the procurement to payment process- Function as part of the Accounts Payable team; working with others to help the organization meet its goals.
This position is part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.
Here’s What You Need: High school diploma or GED including courses in Accounting and data entry with two years of experience in accounting clerical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment; strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills; excellent customer service skills; strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office products; excellent problem-solving skills required.
Experience working with a large purchasing card program and an automated accounts payable system is preferred.
You must have excellent analytical and decision-making skills; and effective communication skills for collaborating at all levels in a complex organization.
The main duties of this position relate to the administration of our purchasing card program.
