Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field with an emphasis in accounts payable; two years of accounts payable and/or professional accounting experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software particularly with Excel spreadsheets; excellent attention to detail and accuracy with sound organizational skills; effective oral and written communication skills; the ability to prioritize and multi-task are a must.
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check.
Must be a US citizen or have been a lawful resident of the US for the past ten consecutive years.
This position is considered Critical Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug testing and alcohol testing.
The use of medical marijuana for this position is prohibited.
Duties
Daily processing of accounts payable responsibilities for multiple police divisions including recording entries and reconciling accounts; ensuring purchase orders and bills are processed and paid in a timely, accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures; ability to research and resolve discrepancies and identify cost-saving opportunities; maintain multiple internal tracking logs; monitor budgetary accounts for availability of funds to include reviewing and analyzing trends in expenditures; assist with year-end spending forecasts; reconcile department accounting reports against county financial reports; ensuring county procurement processes are adhered; review and analysis of county contract pricing; prepare monthly and/or ad-hoc reports as needed; provide support to the Police Finance Operations Manager; provide backup for petty cash and cash receipts; provide back-up for administrative reception duties as needed; have a desire to learn about police operations and support department personnel; Perform other work as required.
