POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation and processing of weekly payroll as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Validates and enters approved payrate and payroll related information in the company’s Paycom and Profit Zoom systems.
Reviews and makes edits/corrections to timecards based on manager, company, and FLSA requirements.
Ensures managers have properly approved their teams’ timecards.
Verifies accuracy of timecards and approved hours prior to payroll related uploads/exports.
Reviews and compares payroll related data against various reports.
Works closely with field staff, managers, and the Payroll Manager in responding to pay and payroll related inquiries, correcting discrepancies, gaining approvals, and finalizing payroll for submission.
Reviews additional reports and enters data into appropriate systems as necessary related to Paid Time Off, On-Call Pay, Incentive Pay, Stipends, Payroll Imports, Certified Payroll, etc.
Calculates certified payroll extra pay to be applied to weekly payroll
Previews payroll check registers for accuracy prior to processing.
Submits and Processes weekly payroll as directed by the Payroll Manager.
Generates various payroll and pay related reports prior to and after submittal.
Works closely with Human Resources Team Members to ensure new hire and status change information is accurately and timely aligned with pay related information in company systems.
Enters and ensures wage garnishments are processed properly.
Validates and responds to wage and employment data verifications from current and former.
Team Members, government agencies, legal inquiries, and other third parties.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or business preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of payroll experience in multi-location, multi-state environment required.
Strong experience and demonstrated abilities in MS Office (Excel, MS Word, etc.
) and electronic payroll systems required.
Previous experience working with Paycom and/or Profit Zoom systems a plus.
Understanding of local, state, and federal payroll and payroll tax laws
Strong attention to detail and passionate about the quality and accuracy of data
Critical thinking, judgment, decision-making, follow-up, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Possess excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information handled.
Ability to work independently and as a team member with minimal supervision.
