Job Title: Staff Accountant Job Category: Administration Department/Group: Finance/Corporate FLSA status Full time/Exempt Location: Midlothian, VA HQ Travel Required: As Needed Job Description *BASIC FUNCTION:* Our Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of a company’s reports and statements.
This position reports to Corporate Controller.
*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS NOT LIMITED TO* * Banking * Daily entry of all activities * Process wires and ACH payments * Post incoming deposits * Submit positive pay files * Monthly bank reconciliations * Payroll * Weekly payroll processing * Enter all Journal entries related to PR (wages, 401k, health insurance, etc) * Month end * Complete monthly journal entries * Review and produce monthly financials * Balance sheet reconciliations * Other areas to learn and provide back up * AR * Customer set up * Credit review * Sales batch processing * AP * Invoice processing * Payment of invoices * Provide accounting and financial support to Controller as needed * Additional projects and responsibilities as assigned Management Expectations Highly Motivated with teamwork mentality Detail and outcome-oriented Self-Starter Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and practices Required Skills A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field 2-5 years accounting experience Excellent Excel knowledge \*Not required but Sage ERP experience a plus Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.
