Job Description: Longwood University invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Assistant Bursar, Auxiliary Services (FA087) in Cashiering and Student Accounts.
The successful candidate will lead the auxiliary services (Lancer Card Center and Parking Administration) function of the Bursar's office as well as manage the student billing process, supervision of staff and will be responsible for other duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage Lancer Card Center Coordinate cash handling services and fiscal reconciliations for auxiliary services Assist in contract administration to include marketing, sales, and data analysis Oversee Lancer Cash process including promotion, sales, and vendor services Maintain Lancer Card policies and educate campus on policies When necessary, create, issue, and distribute Lancer Cards for students, faculty/staff, and contractors Manage Parking Administration Services Develop parking reports and evaluate data Maintain parking policy and educate campus on policies Manage the permit process (creation, sales, distribution) Manage ticket billing cycle Maintain and troubleshoot the parking data management system Manage Tuition and Fee Tables and Student Billing Process Build, maintain, and modify accurate tuition, fee, room and board rates for each term Review weekly reconciliations and make appropriate adjustments in a timely manner Process student billing on a bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly cycle Assist Bursar with tax reporting including 1098-T and 1042-S processing Coordinate Banner testing for the Cashiering and Student Accounts office Requirements: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Master's Degree in Business Administration, preferred: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of work experience and/or training required Experience supervising, coaching, and developing performance plans for staff Strong understanding of cash handling and accounting principles Solid customer service background Demonstrated strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written and oral communication skills Proven track record of professional conduct Preferred Experience: Work experience with ID card and parking process and systems Experience with and knowledge of Banner Experience with marketing, sales, and working with vendors Experience administering and communication policies Experience working in higher education and with student accounts Additional Information: This position is a full-time, administrative & professional faculty, exempt position.
